Yarrangobilly Caves NSW

Yarrangobilly Caves are a collection of magnificent ancient limestone caves. Located within Kosciuszko NP (6.5 km off Snowy Mts Hwy), they are 77 km s-e of Tumut and 109 km n-w of Cooma. Numbering about 60 caves, only four are open to the public – North & South Glory, Jersey, Jillabenan. The first cave (Glory Arch) was discovered in 1830s and Caves House was completed in 1901. The caves are set inside deep gorges and rugged bluffs of the Yarrangobilly River Valley and feature many gorgeous decorations, including delicate shawls, grand columns, underground pools & chambers. The thermal pool was constructed in 1890s and has a constant temperature of 27 degrees Celsius. Daily tours. Tel (02) 6454 9597. No accommodation or camping available.
