Woolloomooloo is an inner
Sydney
harbour suburb 1.5 km east of the
CBD. Originally a poor working class area, it has
been extensively redeveloped particularly around
Finger Wharf, the world’s largest wooden structure
(400 m long x 63 m wide). It was completed in 1915
and is today home to a number of famous Australians.
Also nearby is the infamous, Harry’s Café de Wheels,
a popular tourist attraction fast-food stall.
Woolloomooloo covers half a sq km with a population
over 3 000.
