Wardell is a pleasant Richmond River township on the
Far North Coast 723 km north of Sydney. Originally a
timber town called Blackwall, it is best identified
by its landmark life span bridge which replaced 19th
century barges & ferries transporting sugar cane
and cedar. Its proximity to Ballina and Lismore is seeing
rapid growth of new houses in Wardell together with
its relaxing and leisurely lifestyle and excellent
fishing. Richmond River Cane Festival (May), Half
Marathon (Sept).
