The Great Lakes region covers over 145 km of coastline just 3 hours north of Sydney. Major industries include tourism, construction, fishing & retail. The area is ideal for all kinds of watersports together with interesting markets, fine dining and the magnificent Grandis, the state's tallest tree, a 76 m flooded gum found within Myall Lakes NP. Main towns include Forster-Tuncurry, Bulahdelah together with the smaller settlements of Tea Gardens, Hawks Nest, Pipers Bay, Green Point, Coomba Bay, Pacific Palms, Boomerang Beach, Bungwahl, Seal Rocks, Nerong.
