Tanami Track

The Tanami Track or Tanami Rd links Alice Springs (NT) with Halls Creek (WA). Following an early cattle droving route, it passes through the Tanami Desert and covers about 1 060 km. Stops along the way include Yuendumu (Aboriginal artists’ community), Granite Mines and Rabbit Flat roadhouse for supplies. The Track crosses through Warlpiri indigenous lands (NT) and pastoral properties (WA) and although graded, a 4WD is advisable.
