'Subi' is a fashionable inner city suburb and one of Perth's oldest. Located 4 km west of the CBD, it was established in 1846 and named after a town in Italy. It was a working class area until 1960s when it began its transformation. Subiaco covers 3.2 sq km and is home to the Subiaco Oval, Regal Theatre and Mueller Park. Rokeby Rd and Hay St are the main retail and commercial roads which host the annual Subiaco Street Festival. There are also 3 major hospitals here. Station Street Markets held Fri-Sun and Subiaco Pavilion Markets Thurs-Sun.
