Springwood is a charming town and the Blue Mountains second largest. Located 74 km west of Sydney, it was named by Governor Macquarie (1815) for its pretty wooded areas and plentiful fresh water. After the railway arrived (1867) Springwood became a popular weekend and holiday resort.
