Snapper
Snapper is one of Australia’s most popular saltwater fish and an important recreational and commercial species. Their colour varies from pink through red to brown with several small blue spots. Snapper grow to over a metre in length and weigh over 20 kg inhabiting reefs and wrecks along the southern half of Australia’s coastline. The young are known as ‘Squires’ while old fish are ‘Old Man Snappers’! Snapper like to feast on crustaceans and molluscs and are also known as Schnapper, Pink Snapper, Pinky, Red Bream.
