Sapphire Coast NSW
The Sapphire Coast stretches some 150 km from Bermagui to Eden (480 km south of Sydney). The region is famous for its cheese making in the historic town of Bega and deep sea fishing around Bermagui. It is also home to the state's largest coast lake, Wallaga Lake as well as Wonboyn Lake, one of the coast's most secluded spots. Tathra is known for its wonderful surf beach and historic wharf while Merimbula & Pambula are hugely popular with holidaymakers. Amongst the numerous national parks here are Mimosa Rocks, Ben Boyd & Bournda. Also not to be missed is Eden's Killer Whale Museum together with whale watching between Sept-Nov.
