Rose Park is a wealthy inner Adelaide suburb 3 km east of the CBD. Laid out in 1878, many of the suburb's 19th century building have been heritage-listed. Although mostly residential, there is a commercial sector and Victoria Park racecourse is found to the west. The suburb was named after the SA Company's chairman, Sir John Rose.
