Rosebery is a prosperous gold and zinc mining town located on Tasmania’s west coast 303 km n-w of Hobart. Gold was discovered in 1890s under harsh conditions, followed by zinc, lead and copper. In 1920s, a large zinc mining company bought all the mines in the district and developed the township for their workers. Today Pasminco Zinc Mine is the cornerstown of the town’s successful economy.
