Rosebery is a prosperous gold and zinc mining town
located on
Tasmania’s west coast 303 km n-w of Hobart. Gold was
discovered in 1890s under harsh conditions, followed
by zinc, lead and copper. In 1920s, a large zinc
mining company bought all the mines in the district
and developed the township for their workers. Today
Pasminco Zinc Mine is the cornerstown of the town’s
successful economy. Rosebery Folk Festival
