Port Stephens NSW
Port Stephens is a large natural harbour 220 km north east of Sydney. Named by Capt Cook, it comprises an area of over 100 sq km, making it larger than Sydney Harbour. Renowned for its excellent fishing, boating and other watersports, the last 30 years have seen a tremendous surge in numbers of holiday makers and retirees. Spanning about 50 km, this spectacular coastal area has a number of pretty towns/villages including Nelson Bay, Fingal Bay, Anna Bay, Soldiers Point, Salamander Bay, Lemon Tree Passage, Tanilba Bay and Oyster Cove.
