Port Phillip Bay Vic
Port Phillip Bay is located in southern Victoria. Covering almost 2 000 sq km, its shore spans about 250 km from Port Lonsdale (Bellarine Peninsula) to Portsea (Mornington Peninsula). First explored in 1802, the area today is Australia’s most populated catchment as many of Melbourne’s suburbs sprawl its shores (north & east). The Bay’s main settlements include Victoria’s capital, Melbourne, Geelong, Queenscliff, Werribee, Frankston, Mornington, Sorrento and it is home to Swan, Mud and Duck Islands.
