Pine Creek is an interesting, historic town 248 km south of Darwin on the Stuart Hwy. Named after the many pines around the creek, the area's history includes early goldfinds, large numbers of Chinese miners and subsequent uranium, silver, lead & iron ore mining. Many old historic buildings remain in the township and goldmining is once again carried out here. Races (May), NT Gold-panning Championships & Didgeridoo Festival (June), Rodeo (June).
