Nedlands is an interesting inner Perth suburb on the Swan River 6 km s-w of the CBD. The area has a number of upmarket homes, low cost housing for nearby Uni of WA students, a large commercial area and a good selection of restaurants. A major eye research institute, a public and private hospital and aged care facilities are also found here. Nedlands covers 5.3 sq km and is surrounded by Karrakatta, Crawley and Dalkeith.
