Mile End centre sits just 4 km to the west of the Adelaide's CBD. It was named in 1860, as part of its location was situated just one mile from the centre of Adelaide. The well-known Mile End Goods Yard served as an important railway complex from 1912 until 1980s with the station demolished in 1994. Nearby are the Brickworks Markets sited in an old kiln and open every Fri/Sat/Sun.
