Maclean has been proclaimed ‘Australia’s Scottish town’.  Sitting on the Clarence River in Northern NSW 653 km north of Sydney, early timbergetters & pastoralists began arriving from 1820s followed by many Scottish settlers. Important industries are prawning, sugar cane, timber & mixed crops and popular pursuits include fishing, sailing, waterskiing & houseboats.
