Macksville is pleasant Mid North Coast
service town 472 km north of Sydney. It is also
noted for its fishing & oyster farming industries
and is ideally located on the Nambucca River.
European settlement in the form of timbergetters
& fishermen arrived from 1840s and the town takes
its name from two Scotsmen (Mackay & McNally).
Other important industries include tropical fruits,
timber, dairying & grazing. Macksville has a
number of boat ramps and enjoys many other water
activities. Macksville markets 4th Sat each month.
