Lake Cargelligo is a
South West region service centre 552 km west
of Sydney.
Following indigenous occupation where the name
‘Cudjallagong’ meaning ‘water container’ is thought
to derive, European pastoral settlement began in
1840s. Main industries today include wheat, wool,
lambs, fruit & vegetables. The town was built
beside the lake and enjoys many types of water
activities & festivals. Lake Show (Sept), Rodeo
(Oct), Lake Festivale (Dec).
