Joondalup is a Perth northern suburb/regional centre 27 km from the CBD. Named after Lake Joondalup (east), it was established in 1980s and covers about 12 sq km. The area has a large retail/commercial sector as well as several parks (Central and Neil Hawkins). Joondalup is home to the area’s major public hospital as well as several university & TAFE campuses. There is a major bus/train interchange and free CAT buses that service the district.
