  Great Dividing Range
Great Dividing Range QLD/NSW/ACT/VIC
The Great Dividing Range spans over 3 500 km n-s through eastern Australia. Beginning at the n-e tip of Queensland, through NSW & ACT, the range ends in the Grampians region of  western Victoria. Rather than one continuous range, the GDR comprises many mountain ranges, hills, escarpments, gorges, plains and plateaus. Although parts of the range are quite steep and rugged, many others have produced excellent agricultural and pastoral farms such as Qld’s Atherton Tableland & Darling Downs and the Northern Tablelands & Southern Highlands in NSW. The entire Alpine region of NSW is part of the range as are the Bunya and Blue Mountains. Famous passes: Cox’s Gap, Cunningham’s Gap, Dead Horse Gap. Highland towns: Atherton, Toowoomba, Armidale, Goulburn, Canberra, Omeo.
