Nymboida (47 km s-w): excellent bushwalking & rainforest trails, abseiling, platypus viewing & canoeing. A hydro-electric power station pumps water from the Nymboida River into the Goolang Creek resulting in one of Australia's most exciting canoe courses. Whitewater rafting is also popular here when the river is high enough.
Yuraygir NP (50 km s-e): 30 000 ha of rocky headlands and cliffs, beautiful isolated beaches, rainforest, heaths, wetlands & estuaries.
