Susan Island in Clarence River: (named after the Susan which became the first ship to enter the river in 1838) comprises a rainforest reserve in the north and the southern part is home to the largest fruit bat colony in the Southern Hemisphere and seen best at dusk (wearing a hat is recommended!) Access by boat.
