Flemington is an inner Melbourne suburb 6 km n-w of the CBD. Surrounded by the suburbs of Parkville, Kensington, Travancore and Ascot Vale, it is home to Flemington Racecourse which has hosted the famous Melbourne Cup horse race held each Nov since 1861. Flemington was established from 1840s and today there are still many Victorian, Edwardian and Federation homes and buildings evident. There are regular bus, tram & train services. Flemington markets held 4th Sun each month.
