Cottesloe is a prestigious coastal and riverfront
Perth
suburb 11 km s-w of the
CBD. Known for its beautiful surf beach (west)
the eastern part of the suburb sits on Swan River's
Freshwater Bay. Founded in 1880s, it covers an area
of 3.8 sq km and is a mostly residential suburb
although it is also home to a significant retail
area. Towering
Norfolk Pine trees distinguish Cottesloe as do a
number of imposing buildings (Indiana Tea House and
Cottesloe Civic Centre). A walking/cycling oceanway
link neighbouring beaches.
