Clunes is a pretty Far North Coast hinterland village 754 km north of Sydney. It sits on the Bangalow Rd halfway between Lismore (18 km west) and Bangalow (15 km east) and was the birthplace of the region’s dairy industry. Today Clunes is surrounded by many successful macadamia plantations and its name means ‘pleasant place’ in Gaelic, an apt description for its beautiful federation houses and historic church architecture.
