Central West NSW is the state's largest region with over 60 000 sq km west of the Blue Mountains. Important centres are Bathurst, Orange, Mudgee, Parkes, Forbes, Dubbo, West Wyalong & Cowra. The east is more hilly, wetter and higher and home to fruit & vegetable growing and pastoral industries. The flatter and drier west supports grain crops & pastoralism.
