The Bunya Mountains are located in SE Qld between Kingaroy and Dalby. Protected by the Bunya Mountains NP (117 sq km), the two highest peaks (Mount Kiangarow and Mount Mowbullan) reach about 1 100 m. Although the area was significantly logged in the past, the peaks have remained covered in superb cedar and pine forests due to inaccessibility by early timbergetters. The park offers a range of accommodation, excellent walking tracks and prolific flora, fauna and birdlife.
