Alstonville is a pleasant hinterland village
originally known as Duck Tree Mountain and located
755 km north of
Sydney (10 km off Pacific Hwy). European
settlement began in 1860s with cedar cutters and the
name derived from an early settler, Annie Alston.
Alstonville is renowned for its Tibouchina trees
(March) and surrounding volcanic soils producing
avocados,
macadamias, coffee & tropical
fruits.
